Photography is an excllent tool for raising nature awareness
and with digital photography it is an affordable
classroom tool.

Here is the writing formula I used for my bookEinstien in My Garden, Photos and Reflectiions on Bugs. 

I also used it in my classroom teaching upper elementary through high school.

1. Take a nature photo
2. Research and say something true about the subject.
3. Make a personal comment, bring up a past experience, make a flight of fancy.
4. If at all possible make a universal statement.

Examples in the book, "Einstein in My Garden."

Einstein in My Garden includes a CD spoken word and some bug songs.  This make it perfect for students who are behind in reading or ESL students, also for students who are too young to read, thought the reflections are aimed for upper elementary and above.
